Highfin Coral Grouper (Plectropomus oligacanthus)

Another #AFSVirtual2020 conference "doodle" done during 2 of the Student & Early Career workshop sessions. (The sessions were great, and I listened along closely) I used R and Fishbase to randomly select a fish from the database, then went to it. This is yet another Tropical/Sub-tropical fish, the Highfin Coral Grouper. I kinda like that my random selections have been coming up mostly with tropical/subtropical reef associated fish, as they are usually far more colorful than their temperate and pelagic relatives. This particular fish is native to the waters of the Coral Triangle (Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines) in the Indo-Pacific.
