I have worked in traditional and digital media for many years, cutting my teeth (artistically at least) on the old Amiga and Video Toaster so I could learn Lightwave. In the interim I have worked professionally in mid sized market doing 3D animation and video editing focused on commercials and training video productions. I have also done freelance work filling gaps in manpower for larger animation houses. Recently I returned to school and a PhD in Oceanography. Now I spend most of my artistic time doing scientific illustrations and outreach for publications in science journals, books, web and newspapers. I have been lead designer on several scientific books including covers and many content graphics, while some of my illustrations have made it to Nature, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. In my "free" time I like to continue to learn new ways of visualizing things, doing character sketches, fish sketches and fantasy settings in digital and traditional mediums.
